Well Wishes

After hearing the news of a friend needing emergency heart surgery, I thought a nice bright happy card would help to cheer her up. I stumbled upon this cute digi image from Flat Friends called Bee Happy and used their current colour combo challenge of pink, blue and green to start.

All patterned paper is from Kaiser Craft Miss Nelly paper pad and edged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. She  is coloured using the following Copics: Skin: E50, E51, E21, R20 Hair: YG01, YG05, YGO7 Clothes: B91, B95, B97, R81, R83, R85 Wings: BG000, BG10, BG32.

I'm coming into a time of the year where there are babies everywhere! Once again I get to use my Magnolia Sleeping Baby Tilda Stamp for a gorgeous new bundle which arrived this week.

Baby Tilda was coloured with the following Copics: Skin: E0000, E000, E00 E02 Clothes: RV000, RV10, RV32 Pillow: C1, C3, 0. Baby Tilda is finished with a splash of Kindyglitz on her wings & the lace.

I found the paper in the depth my stash so I have no idea where its from. I embossed the Kaszazz small & large Baubles with white powder on cardstock, fussy cut them & edged with Vintage Photo. I finished the card with some pearls & some ribbon of a very non-traditional Christmas colour!

50 & Strutting Proud!

I came across a paper pack by Sugar & Spice Studio called Spring Garden that had heaps of peacock style papers. I knew that they would go perfectly with my all-time favorite stamp 'Vivienne' by Kraftin' Kimmie.

Kraftin' Kimmie Vivienne

I used The Sketchy Challenge #62 as a start. I flipped & mirrored the sketch, using a circle instead of a diamond & an offset feather instead of a strip. I coloured her in with the following Copics: Skin: E000, E00, YR00, R20 Hair: E35, E25, E27 Clothes: B00, B02, B12, YG05 Feathers: YG01, YG05, B12, BV02. I layered her on blue cardstock, both edged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo, & filled in the white backgound with dots of BV02, YG01 & B12.

I stitched the card with shimmer embroidery thread & added the feather. I finished it off with a swipe of Wink of Stella over the feathers, eyes, jewels & shoes.

Teachers Loot Bag

For a gift to give my daughters teacher along with her card, I also made this loot bag. I used a journal pocket & leveled the base so that it would stand up. I die cut a window in it & attached some plastic film onto the inside of the bag.

I stamped the bag with a graph background stamp & a 'Teach' sentiment in Distress Ink Vintage Photo. I added a few strips of washi tape to both the front & back. Both stamps & the washi tape are from Kaszazz. I finished it off with some ribbon stapled in the shape of a heart, & some buttons.

Learning is a Journey

Its the end of the school year so I wanted to make my daughters first teacher a card to thank her. I had a wonderful 'School Days' paper pack by Sugar & Spice Studio which was perfect and all papers were from this pack.

I used Tuesday Morning Sketch #228 as my starting block, and flipped it on the side. The twist on this challenge was to add 'a bell or snowman', and although it is tiny, there is a school bell on top of the school! The school image I used is from digital kit 'School Days' by Sweet Blossom Designs.

The Journey sentiment stamp is from Kaszazz, as well as the tag die I embossed and edged with Distressed Ink Bundled Sage. The paperclip paper is edged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and blinged with Kindyglitz.

As this is an easel card, I die cut the heart on the inside of the card and folded it so that it would help to stand it up nicely. As a fluke I also managed to match up the papers so that the pattern carried on the inside of the card too!

Pitter Patter of Little Feet

A long-time friend recently announced the impending arrival of little feet & that gave me the excuse to use one of my seldom used (but still a favourite) Magnolia stamp, Mother to be Tilda.

Magnolia Mother To Be Tilda

All papers used are from a Grace Taylor Hopscotch paper pack, edged with Distressed Ink Vintage Photo. The stamped paper & kids playground paper are also distressed. Tilda is coloured with the following Copics: Skin: E000, E00, E21, R20 Hair: E37, E57, E49 Dress: BV000, BV02, BV13 Shoes & Bow: Y00, Y01, YG13. The sentiment stamp was found in the depth of my stash (unknown brand).

Magnolia Mother To Be Tilda

I started off with the Friday Sketch Challenge #58. I initially flipped it upside down, however it morphed considerably when I was building it. The ribbon & buttons are from my stash & the twine is from Stampin' Up. Both of the roses are made from a scollop punch, edged with Vintage Photo.

Magnolia Mother To Be Tilda

Ive added a light coat of lavender shimmer chalk to the Tilda background. The card is also double machine stiched around the background paper & Tilda. Its finished off with a splash of Kindyglitz.

Sealed with a Kiss

The arrival of a friends baby over the weekend prompted the topic of this card. I used the Magnolia Sleeping Baby Tilda stamp & coloured it with the following Copics: Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E02 Pillow & Top: C00, C1, C3 Clothes: R20, R22, R24.

All papers are from DCWV Nanna's Nursery paper pack, with the frame & hearts die cut then edged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. The banner was made with off-cuts, edged & raised with foam. I finished off the banner with Stampin' Up Coral Calypso twine bows. The Kiss stamp is from Kaszazz. I stitched the base papers together with a shimmer embroidery thread & finished it off with a splash of Kindyglitz on the wings & lace of Baby Tilda.

Thanks for taking a look.

Sassy Santa Pin-Up

My card today is another image from Sassy Studio Designs. This months Paper Craft Planet Sassy Studio Designs challenge is 'white on white with a splash of non traditional colour'. I chose pink (& a touch of blue) as my non traditional colour.

Sassy Studio Designs Santa Pin-Up

Butterfly Kisses

One of the challenges I used for a starting point on this card was 'make it pretty'. I had purchased this Large Flutterby stamp from Kaszazz a short time ago, but had never gotten around to using it. And whats not pretty about a butterfly? I used Seize the Sketch #8 as the other starting point for this card.

butterfly handmade roses kaszazz flutterby
On the blue card stock base and used numerous papers from the Kaiser Craft Miss Nelly paper pad. The butterfly was coloured with the following Copics: R83, B91, B95, B97 & G82. It was also die cut with the coordinating Kaszazz Flutterby die & spritzed with pearl Glimmer Mist. The 'Butterfly Kisses' sentiment is also from Kaszazz.

butterfly handmade roses kaszazz flutterby

Once the papers, stamps & sentiments were layered together I felt it wasn't pretty enough so I made the 3 roses from pink & ivory card stock using a diasy punch, edged them with Distress Ink Worn Lipstick & finished with Kindyglitz. I added some lace, pearls & the flourish is a Spellbinders Floral Flourish for the finishing touches.

Christmas Table Tree

I'd had this Kaiser Craft wooden tree for a while & finally decided to use it. I decorated it with cardstock from a Christmas Create Cardstock Foil & Glitter pack & sponged the edges with green paint. I then used lots of Christmas transfers from numerous brands like Kaszazz, Abi's Craft & Bella.

I wanted to be able to use this for years to come & have the ability to update the photos to the current year photo shoot I do with my kids. To overcome this, I used some tiny pegs I'd found at the local $2 shop & they worked a treat!

I finished it off with lots of gems & ribbons.

My Little Superstar!

The Little Superhero in my life has his birthday coming up so I had the topic of my card sorted out. I used The Sketchy Challenges #59 sketch as my layout & the gorgeous La-La Land Crafts StarBoy Luka as my focal point.

La-La Land Crafts Starboy Luka

As my little Superhero is turning 3 I chose to interpret the 3 circles on the sketch as stars (to match with the star on StarBoy Luka's top). When putting it all together I felt it needed to have a second strip of chevron washi tape to balance it. All paper is from the BasicGrey Bowties paper pad & distressed & edged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. StarBoy Luka is coloured with the following Copics (Skin: E00, E01, E02 Hair: Y23, YR23, E35 Top & Mask: YR14, YR16, YR18, YG13 Cape: Y00, YG01, YG13 Pants & Cuffs: BG11, BG32, BG45 Shoes & Belt: E25, E27, E29, C1, C3, C5).

Autumn Colours in Spring

I'm really enjoying this new world of card challenges as its given my cards 'new life' & gives me such a great starting/focal point, but also enables me to see so many other very talented peoples' work!

For this card I'm again using Retro Sketch #87 as my inspiration along with Magnolia Down Under's challenge of Autumn Vintage (although its spring here in Australia!)

Magnolia Romantic Tilda

I used the Romantic Tilda stamp & coloured her in with the following Copics (Skin: E51, YR00, E11, R20, Hair: E37, E39, E59, Dress Hat & Shoes: YR00, YR14, YR16, YR18, Umbrella & Flowers: RV10, RV23, RV29, G94, W5, W3).

Materials used include all paper from Grace Taylors 'Playtime' scrapbook pad, all edged with my favourite Distress Ink Vintage Photo, scollop punches from cardstock to make the flowers & dies for the fence & heart.

Wedding Congratulations

After finding out that a relative of my husband is getting married this weekend, a cram session last night once the kids had finally gone to bed to make a delicate card for the happy couple. I used Retro Sketches #87 to base my card on. I wanted to use a peacock feather as a focal point & for something different I rotated the sketch too.

Kaszazz Mannequin

My background paper & strip are from the KaiserCraft Blae & Ivy paper pack. The stamp I used to cut out was the Kaszazz Mannequin on ivory cardstock & the bodice was on KaiserCraft Elegance paper. I also used a very sheer ivory tissue paper (found in my stash so not sure where it originated from) as the other main layer on the sketch (although its slightly difficult to see in the close up below).

All paper elements are edged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. The card is finished off with a little bit of ribbon on the bodice & some classic wedding pearls.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by & having a look.
