Enjoy the Journey

It's the year of the baby in my circle of friends. I'm expecting 10 bouncing bundles to arrive this year (at last count) & the first of many baby shower parties is coming up. I put this together this simple gate fold card for one of my oldest friends, who's due in a couple of short weeks (& I couldn't be happier for them!!).

As they didn't find out the sex, I kept my papers neutral but bright & used the rosette as a securing point for the gate fold.

Summer Birthday Barbecue

Summer has certainly arrived here in little old Adelaide, Australia. We are currently in the middle of a week long heat wave. Today's high reached 43.7°C (& for all of my international visitors that's 111°F). Tomorrows high is predicted to be a mere 46°C (115°F!)

And what better way to celebrate a summer birthday than with a barbecue! Here is a quick card put together for my BIL.

Magnolia Cool Edwin

Papers used are from Sugar & Spice 'Outdoor Adventure' paper pack & edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I have layered them in a clean & simple layout with a strip of graph washi tape & simple arrow sentiment from cardstock edged with Gathered Twig Distress Ink & finished with a few black rhinestones. Both  the washi tape & sentiment are from Kaszazz. This charming bloke is 'Cool Edwin' from Magnolia (of course). He is coloured with the following Copics:

Skin: E00  E11  E21  R20

Hair: E27  E29  E49
Top: R17  R27  R29  R39

Sweet 6

One of my many nieces birthday is next week so here is a delightful little card for her.

cc designs lil' bug emma CC0107

The two polka dot & heart papers used are from a magazine freebie 'Me To You - With Love'. All edges were distressed & edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I used the Spellbinders curved rectangle dies for the image & tag. The tag was embossed & distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The butterflies are from the Kaszazz Flutterby die set & are cut from scrunched & sanded Core'dination Black Magic Cauldron paper.

This cute little girl is from CC Designs & her name is Lil' Bug Emma. She was die cute & embossed before I added a swipe of pink shimmer chalk to the embossed surface. She is coloured with the following Copics:

After hearing my husband's colleague had been hit by a car, I figured that she might like a cheery, colourful card to help bring a smile to her face.

Sassy Studio Designs Katniss Girl of Fire

I used the Sassy Studio Designs Katniss Girl on Fire image as my focal. I love this image as it can be used for so may different occasions (birthdays/weddings/parties etc). She is super gorgeous & is such a challenge to colour with all the folds.

I used the following Copics to colour her:

Skin: E000  E00  YR00  R20
Hair: Y11  Y15  Y26  E27
Dress: R22  R24  R27
BG11  BG32  BG13  BG18
RV000  RV11  RV32  R85

Sassy Studio Designs Katniss Girl of Fire

Papers used were from Kaiser Craft 'Fine & Sunny' paper pack. I used the Magnolia Doohickey Swirl die & blinged it up with some Kindyglitz. The flower was made with x2 of each daisy punch (small, medium & large). Both the 'Celebrate' & 'Sealed with a Kiss' sentiments are from Kaszazz. A splash more Kindyglitz on her dress & some rhinestones on the tag complete the card.
